Midwest Shelter for
Homeless Veterans

The Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans is a non-profit agency that provides housing, supportive services and community outreach to help homeless and at-risk veterans and their families achieve self-sufficiency.

Founded in 2007, by Vietnam War veteran Bob Adams and Gulf War veteran Dirk Enger, MSHV operates on a vision of no veteran left behind due to homelessness, joblessness, poverty and/or mental health issues.

Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans will be on site collecting donations for the shelter.

Click here to see a list of wish items needed at the shelter. Feel free to bring them the night of the event, or drop the items off at Village Hall or Old Second Bank.

Tree

Village of Campton Hill’s
Holiday Tree

The Village’s Holiday in the Hills event will provide a fun opportunity for children to get involved with their community while enjoying the holiday festivities.   We invite children of the Village to bring environmentally-friendly decorations they have made to hang on the holiday tree in front of the Village Hall between 6-9pm on Friday, Dec. 2, for all to enjoy throughout the season.

Ornaments can be brought to Village hall or contact Jayne Holley at 630-641-6942 to pick up at your child’s school/daycare before Nov. 30 if unable to attend the event.

Live music and the lighting of the decorated tree will kick off the evening’s events—which will include a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Santa and lots of photo opportunities for parents and grandparents.

Tips for making ornaments (and web sites containing ornament ideas):

Painted acorns
Star Rolls
