Village Code

It is against Village code to burn leaves on your property.

The open burning of landscape waste and/or other materials, with the exception of brush, is prohibited in the village except for those living within the 60119 U.S. postal service zip code. The brush must be dry when burned.

If you notice someone violating this ordinance by burning leaves, please contact the Village of Campton Hills Police on the non-emergency number at 630-584-0330. The Police can issue an ordinance violation ticket to the homeowner.

Holiday Lights
2nd Annual Recycling

Are you finding your holiday lights have lost their twinkle? Year after year we find ourselves testing bulbs and replacing fuses, and when that doesn’t work, in the garbage the lights go.

Last year, Village of Campton Hills residents brought in 259 pounds of broken light strands for recycling. For our 2nd annual holiday lights recycling program, our goal is to recycle over 300 lbs of holiday lights. Please help us get the word out regarding this recycling effort to help get another recyclable commodity out of the land fills.

Lights accepted include: Italian mini-lights, traditional lights, extension cords, rope lights, LED lights. Lights can be in working or non-working condition, from any holiday!

Please bring your lights for recycling to Village Hall during the hours of 9-4, Monday thru Friday, beginning Monday, November 21. We will continue to collect lights into early January.
