Meet the Candidates

Campton Hills

Candidate Forum March 18, 2017

Former Campton Hills Village President Patsy Smith will be hosting a “Candidate Forum”

Saturday, March 18, 2017
9:00am - Noon
Bell-Graham Elementary School
4N505 Fox Mill Blvd.

The purpose of the forum is to give voters an opportunity to learn about the six (6) candidates running for the three (3) open Campton Hills Village Trustee positions and the five (5) candidates running for the three (3) open Trustee positions (one 2-yr term and two 6-yr terms) on the Fox River and Countryside Fire/Rescue District Board before voting in the upcoming April 4, 2017 election.

Candidates will have an opportunity to mingle with the crowd, introduce themselves, state why they are running for office and explain why they believe they would be an asset to the Village or Fire/Rescue District. Questions from the audience will follow introductions.

The timing of the Forum is scheduled as follows:

9:00-9:30am             Candidates mingle with attendees

9:30-11:00am           Village of Campton Hills Trustee Candidates Forum

11:00-11:15am         Break

11:15-Noon               Fox River Fire/Rescue District Candidates Forum

Ms. Smith knows the importance of voters understanding the qualities of those running for office before they cast their ballot and has organized this event to better educate voters before they go to the polls.

Running/Biking/Walking
Nighttime/Dusk Safety

With busy schedules, some people find their only time to get in some outside exercise is in the darkness of early morning or evening. Exercising in daylight is always a safer choice, but if you're out in the early morning or at night, even at dusk, wear white, yellow, or orange clothes that are reflective. Although some items (running shoes, jackets) already have reflective pieces on them, it doesn't hurt to add more. A headlamp is also a great item for those who do a lot of early morning or evening outdoor exercising.

Safety is the most important concern that you have to take during the nighttime, simply because it’s harder to see you in the dark.
