Spring has officially sprung and the natural areas are growing like crazy!
We have been very busy at the Township, and are looking to an exciting summer.
Our community gardens are nearing completion, and we are planning on opening them to gardeners May 1st. If you have not reserved your plot yet, it's not too late! Click here for more information.
We are hosting a Volunteer Workday at Corron Farm on April 29th from 9am-12pm. We will be pulling invasive Garlic Mustard in the Corron Farm Woods. This past winter we made fantastic progress removing invasive brush, and as a result, the wildflowers are coming in strong. Removing Garlic Mustard is an important part of protecting our native plants.
A few notes:
-Please dress for the weather and work (Good boots/shoes, long pants, long sleeves recommended)
-Gloves will be provided, or you may bring your own.
-Please bring a re-usable water bottle.
-Parking and bathrooms near site.
-Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Also on April 29th, Historic Town Hall will be open to the public from 10am-2pm. Listed on the historic registry, this building is a fantastic example of early government. Come on out and learn about the early days of Campton Township!
Lastly, on May 13th we will be offering a few activities at Corron Farm in honor of Mothers Day weekend. Activities will include guided bird walks, wagon rides in the prairie, and tours of the historic home. We are still finalizing details, so stay tuned for more information.
We look forward to seeing you in the parks!
