Swears in Trustees

At the Village of Campton Hills board meeting held May 2, 2017, Village Clerk Girka administered the Oath of Office to incumbents Mike Millette and Mike Tyrrell. President Blecker administered the Oath of Office to new trustee Nick Girka. Terms to expire May 2021.

Vanessa Quail

Welcome Village Clerk
Vanessa Quail

The Village Board on May 2nd unanimously favored President Blecker's appointment of Vanessa Quail as Village Clerk to finish the term vacated by newly elected Trustee Nick Girka.

Growing up in the City of Chicago, Ms. Quail has had a passion for government since her 4th grade Civic class. Following that passion led her to an appointed position with the City of Chicago under the Daley Administration.  During that time, Ms. Quail developed a keen understanding of the many moving parts in government.

In 2010, the family moved to the Village and are enjoying the balance of nature, culture history and community that the Village has to offer.

At the meeting on May 2, President Blecker administered the Oath of Office to Ms. Quail. Her appointed term will expire in May 2019.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that lane closures will take place on IL Route 64 over Ferson Creek and IL Route 64 over Mill Creek, in Lilly Lake and Campton Hills, beginning this week. The closures are necessary to replace the box culverts on the structures that carry Route 64 over Ferson Creek and Mill Creek.

Maxxam Update

As you are probably aware, the Maxxam special use permit for a Level IV Substance Abuse and Alcoholism Rehabilitation Center, located at the former Glenwood School on Silver Glen Road, will be going to the full County Board on May 9, 2017 at 9:45 a.m.

The meeting will be held at the County building located at Government Center, Bldg. A, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Geneva, County Board Room.

This petition will be going to the Board with a recommendation of
NO from the Zoning Board of Appeals and a recommendation of YES from the Development Committee.

It is important to know that the County Board is the final stage of approval, or denial, of this special use permit. This is the last opportunity to make your voice heard. Click here to  e-mail members of the County Board. I strongly urge you to write or e-mail a polite, factual and non-discriminatory letter to each Board member stating your concerns about this proposal.
I realize that attending a 9:45 a.m. meeting on a work day is difficult for many people. That being said, it is important to have as many people attend this meeting as possible.

If you wish to have 3 minutes to speak directly to the Board, you must pre-register at the county web site. Click here  to register to speak.

I am looking forward to seeing you on May 9th.
