Balmoral Restaurant Set to Open Doors on June 4. High-Concept Grand Scottish Fare Comes to Campton Hills.
The buzz has lingered for months, but the wait is finally over. Balmoral Restaurant,
featuring Grand Scottish Fare™ that will please most any palette, is quietly opening its doors at 11am on June 4 in Campton Square.
Located on Illinois Route 64 just east of LaFox Road, Balmoral Restaurant will begin serving
a variety of entrées from the full menu throughout June, as Executive Chef Ryan Kacenjar
and Head Chef Franklin Perdue determine the final rotation of entrees for the permanent
Balmoral Restaurant is one of only a handful of high-concept Scottish restaurants in the
United States, and the first to open in the Chicagoland area in more than three decades. It is the vision of Colin Smith, a restaurateur from the Old Country, born in Perthshire, Scotland, who cut his teeth at many restaurants in Scotland and England before becoming an owner of restaurants himself.
In 2013, Colin visited one of Scotland’s most famous estates, Balmoral Castle, and was
inspired by the golden cutlery, fine crystal and grand place settings at which the royalty
would dine. He decided then to bring that level of dining experience to a broader audience in the States.
