Beginning June 15th, and continuing until about August 21st, the McDonald Road closure will take place from Phar Lap to Corron, with local access to the Campton Hills residents that live on the north side of McDonald Road in that location.
It is our understanding that the roadway will only be completely closed on less than four (4) occasions.
We have been assured that the Police Department and homeowners (living on the north side in that area) will be kept informed with advance notice. We have also been informed that the roadway will be passable every evening after 6 PM, by means of a gravel ramp.
We know that this closure will cause many of our residents some traveling difficulties, and we are trying to alleviate as many problems as we can for those affected.
With the increase of construction traffic in the area, and our Officers will be increasing patrol and observing all traffic in that area.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any problems or questions.
Chief Steven Millar
McDonald Road will be closed before the end of the day.
The detour signs are being placed.
They will not remove the existing road yet.
The plan is to cut down trees, strip topsoil, then check the condition of the subsoil. If it is suitable, they will start doing fills of soil.
All of this work is in the south Right-Of-Way.
This will take about one week.
Emergency vehicles and the residents to the north should have little disruption during this time period.
Machinery will be working from the existing pavement.
