Fourth of July
Have a Happy and SAFE 4th of July.
As July 4th is less than a week away, I would like to wish everyone a happy and SAFE holiday.
I hope you have the opportunity to spend time with family and friends, but please remember that fireworks are dangerous. The danger is there for spectators as well as those who choose to use fireworks.
Fireworks are a traditional part of America’s 4th of July celebration, yet every year people take needless risks when they celebrate. Please remember--and help the Village of Campton Hills spread the word--that all fireworks are illegal in Illinois and can be dangerous. Even fireworks and sparklers deemed "Safe and Sane” can be harmful and often result in serious burns, hearing loss and other injuries. Please encourage friends, neighbors and visitors to closely supervise children, set expectations for proper behavior, and monitor activities. Parents are liable for any damage or injuries caused by their children using fireworks. Those who use, possess, store, or transport any type of fireworks in Campton Hills may be subject to criminal prosecution, or worse yet, a painful and/or debilitating injury.
