Glenwood Academy/Maxxam Partners, LLC is going before the Kane County Public Zoning Board of Appeals once again.
To give a little recap, on March 8, 2016, the Kane County Board denied the Glenwood Academy/Maxxam Partners, LLC. a special use permit for a private-pay alcohol and substance abuse treatment facility. The location for this facility is in an F-Farming District (Glenwood School on Silver Glen Road).
On November 8, 2016, the Kane County Board took the unprecedented action of rescinding the vote taken on March 8, 2016.
Following the hearings, the Kane County Board denied the request, once again, on May 9, 2017.
The Village has been notified that the Kane County Zoning Board of Appeals will be holding a Public Hearing regarding a Special Use request in the F-Farming District for a private pay alcoholism and substance abuse treatment facility located at 41W400 Silver Glen Road, from Glenwood Academy/Maxxam Partners, LLC.
The next Kane County Public Zoning Board Hearing will be August 1, 2018 7:00 p.m. at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Rd, St Charles.

The Consent Decree is a result of the lawsuit brought by Maxxam Partners and the Glenwood School over the county’s denial of a special use zoning permit for a $1,000-a-day alcohol and drug treatment center.
