Holiday Lights

Holiday Lights
4th Annual Recycling

Are you finding your holiday lights have lost their twinkle? Year after year we find ourselves testing bulbs and replacing fuses, and when that doesn’t work, in the garbage the lights go.

In 2015, Village of Campton Hills residents brought in 259 pounds of broken light strands for recycling; 2016, we collected 332 pounds; 2017, we collected 264 pounds; For our 4th annual holiday lights recycling program, our goal is to recycle over 300 lbs of holiday lights. Please help us get the word out regarding this recycling effort to help get another recyclable commodity out of the land fills.

Lights accepted include: Italian mini-lights, traditional lights, extension cords, rope lights, LED lights. Lights can be in working or non-working condition, from any holiday!

Please bring your lights for recycling to Village Hall during the hours of 9-4, Monday thru Friday. We will continue to collect lights into early January. We have partnered once again with Elgin Recycling.

“2018 TOYS FOR TOTS”

Drop off location

The Campton Hills Police Department is announcing that it is again partnering with the United States Marine Corps in the “TOYS FOR TOTS” program.  TOYS FOR TOTS mission is to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute them as Christmas gifts to needy children.  As stated on the TOYS FOR TOTS website “the primary goal of TOYS FOR TOTS is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders”.  The Campton Hills Police Department is proud to be a sponsor of this program and will be a drop off point for these toys. The residents of Campton Hills have been very generous in their giving in the past and we are hoping your generosity continues throughout this holiday season.  Anyone wishing to donate to this program may drop off unwrapped new toys by December 8, 2018 at:
