April 16, 2019 Village Board Meeting

The April 16, 2019 Village Board meeting will be held at Wasco Elementary School, 4N782 School Road.

The Meeting begins at 7pm and will be held in the Community Room.

Kane County Road Resurfacing

Annual County Resurfacing program is scheduled to begin the week of Monday, April 15, 2019, weather permitting.

Construction work hours will be from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday requiring temporary daily lane closures and flaggers directing traffic for the safety of the workers and the travelling public.

In the Village, Burlington Road from Route 64 to  Route 47 will undergo resurfacing and curb and gutter replacement

This work is anticipated to take approximately five months to complete, weather permitting.

Motorists should expect long delays while traveling through the work areas and should add additional time to their commutes. Motorists are asked to reduce their speed, watch for construction workers and vehicles entering or leaving the site, obey flaggers and comply with traffic control devices within the work zone. Motorists may want to consider
the use of alternate routes while this work is being completed.

A reminder – minimum fine for speeding in a work zone is $375.00 with or without workers present. It is illegal for drivers to talk on a cell phone while driving through a highway
construction work zone.

Any questions regarding the project, please call David Sitko at 630-313-0754

Silvana award

Silvana King, Campton Hills Resident

Kane County Forest Preserve's Environmental Education Volunteer of the Year

Silvana King has been a very active environmental education volunteer and has jumped in with both feet to many of the District’s naturalist lead events.

Silvana has volunteered at some of our special events like Maple Sugaring and other annual programs.  She has also volunteered and hosted at our Creek Bend Nature Center.   She is part of the Kane County Certified Naturalist (KCCN) program and her and her family have attended countless District programs and events.

In addition to all that, her and her family have also participated in our Adopt-A-Trail program and regularly helps to clean up a portion of the Great Western Trail in Campton Hills.  She has an energy and enthusiasm for all things nature and her passion for the environment is contagious.  She always has a smile on her face and is willing to assist with anything we might need.  She was the perfect candidate for the award.
